Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a type of gentle massage which encourages the natural drainage of the lymph. Lymph carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. The lymphatic system’s impact is so far-reaching that most people don’t realize that minor aches and pains, low energy or susceptibility to colds and flu may be due to a sluggish lymph system and a compromised immune system.

Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system’s primary function is detoxification and disposal of metabolic waste. We acquire this metabolic waste from sources such as compromised air, water, and food quality, as well as the processes of our bodies metabolism.  Lymphatic drainage therapy can reduce fatigue and increase energy levels. It is effective in treating mood swings, and serves to detoxify the body of metabolic waste.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a useful tool for any massage therapist. By addressing the lymphatic system directly, a client’s immune system function can be greatly improved. When we have a strong immune system, we are happy, balanced and whole.
